24th ‘Made in Thailand’ trade fair 2011 (July 13-17)

The Department of Export Promotion (DEP) is preparing to organize the ‘Made in Thailand 2011’ trade fair during 13-17 July with an aim to promote Thailand as the regional trade center.

The fair is aimed at creating more opportunities for negotiations between entrepreneurs and prospective customers, both Thai and foreign, and promoting Thailand as the trade center of the region. The total value of purchase orders for Thai products is expected to surpass 90 million THB within the event and more than 970 million THB for the entire year.

DEP Director-General Nantawan Sakuntanak announced that the department would arrange the 24th ‘Made in Thailand’ fair next month in a bid to showcase Thailand’s potential in the production of high quality goods. Products to be put on display include consumer goods, clothing and accessories, automotive products, electrical appliances, spa businesses and franchise businesses.

Ms Nantawan expressed confidence that the Thai export would be able to expand by 15 percent throughout this year as targeted, citing that the growth rate since the beginning of the year had been satisfactory. In May alone, the export sector reportedly expanded by 17 percent.

The ‘Made in Thailand 2011’ trade fair is scheduled to take place at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani from 13 to 17 July. The first three days will be reserved for business negotiations and the last two will be open for the general public.
