The good news is that Sunny Leone is on board for “Jism 2”. But the bad news is that “Jism 2” will not be shot in Darjeeling.

Pooja Bhatt, who signed on the actor this week, isn’t disheartened though. The director, who will be producing a movie to be directed by Soni Razdan in 2013, wants to shoot the film in the hill station.

Says Pooja, “We signed on Sunny this week. She will play a woman caught in the crossfire of two men trying to seduce her and are in turn being seduced by her. The best part of casting Sunny is that she didn’t have any background of the film or our body of work. She responded to my father’s offer with an energy that was spontaneous. However, I will not reveal who that woman is under the sheet in the “Jism 2” poster. Just as no one knows who the voice of “Bigg Boss” is, let the myth under the sheet remain.”

About Sunny’s role Pooja says, “It is the story of a girl who emerges from darkness to light. I’ve great respect for Sunny because she doesn’t sell her profession as one being born out of tragedy. In the film, she works in the entertainment industry. Sunny plays a new-age Helen in “Jism 2″. Helen was a great combination of sensuality and grace. One doesn’t get that combination in the so-called item girls of today’s cinema. Sunny’s character is a combination of dazzling beauty, intelligence and vulnerability.” So, will it be Emraan Hashmi or Randeep Hooda opposite Sunny? “By the grace of God, Emraan is doing very well now. I can’t expect that he will be sitting at home waiting for me to sign him on. Besides, I’m not interested in following a pattern of Mahesh Bhatt or Shagufta writing the lines and Emraan mouthing them. I want brand “Jism” and brand “Murder” to be different. I am considering Randeep for another film.”

Sonakshi Sinha has high regards for her mentor Salman Khan as he’s majorly responsible for her launch. However, the 24-year-old is on her own now and is ready to take on Bollywood with a professional attitude.

This is why she decided to give Sohail Khan’s cricket tournament in Sharjah a miss. Last season, Sonakshi was seen cheering for every single match alongside Salman Khan. She was spotted at every party and event hanging out with her Dabangg hero. However, the actor’s professional commitment kept her away this time around.

The actor was so busy shooting with Ranveer Singh for Lootera that she decided to give time to her work rather than stand next to the Khan boy and cheer for the cricket match!

Here’s hoping Salman doesn’t take this to heart!

Mumbai: It seems that the bestselling American R&B musician Akon has some special bonding with Bollywood as he gets associated with some or other star of Hindi Cinema World.

Last year he worked in Shahrukh Khan’s dream project RA.One and rocked the Hindi charts with ‘Chammak Challo’. And this year, Akon reportedly will be giving a stage performance with Bollywood’s Shahanshah Amitabh Bachchan.

After an extended Eid weekend, the collections for SRK’s RA.One have dropped drastically.

“Last Monday onwards, the numbers of the SRK-starrer have been falling like a landslide. This weekend saw it collect Rs 7 odd crore, but it’s not good enough to put the film into big league,”

trade expert Amod Mehra told IBNLive.com.

A distributor based in Central India told the website, “In Central India, Bodyguard collected Rs 4.30 crore in nine days, while RA.One garnered only Rs 3 crore. So how will it recover the cost for the distributor?”
Trade analyst Komal Nahta concurs with Mehra. He writes in koimoi.com: “Now that it is established that RA.One cannot touch the business of Bodyguard in India and that it will fetch more revenues than the Salman Khan starrer in the overseas circuit, the question being asked is: Is RA.One a hit or a flop? The answer is, it is neither a hit nor a flop. On an investment of Rs 135 crore of Eros International, the corporate house will stand to make a profit of Rs 25-30 crore which means a return of 20% on investment.”

Nahta told IBNLive.com: “Though the children liked it, elders didn’t.”

While Shah Rukh Khan and Eros will make money, RA.One is not a hit as some distributors lost money. Their grievances will have to be compensated,” he said, pointing out that Eros will have to make adjustments with their forthcoming Rockstar (November 11) and Desi Boyz (November 25).

Movie expert Taran Adarsh however says the movie is a success but not a big grosser. He says, “Well, the money spent on the film has been recovered thanks to the revenue generated from theatrical and non-theatrical avenues, which makes RA.One a success. But those expecting the film to be the next big grosser after 3 Idiots are sure to be disappointed. It’s not close to Bodyguard [Rs 150 cr + nett] or Dabangg [Rs 145 cr nett]. Now let’s see if the Hindi version of RA.One manages to touch/cross Ready [Rs 123 cr nett].”

Jagjit Singh

New Delhi: ‘Chitthi na koi sandes, jane who kaunsa des jahan tum chale gaye’…has been one of the greatest ghazals of the legend Jagjit Singh that moved people to tears. And the sad demise of the ghazal king Jagjit has once again made the world to remember these lines by him.

A singer, composer and music director, was the man who took ghazals to the common genre. The pain and melancholy in his voice gave vent to the feelings of many a lonely heart.

He has sung in several languages including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Nepali.

Recipient of Padma Bhushan award, Jagjit infused a new life in the dying genre of music in the seventies and carved a niche for himself in Bollywood.

The man behind churning out the finest ghazals, Jagjit was also known for modern approach and infusion of technology in the traditional art of ghazal singing. He was widely credited for the revival and popularity of Ghazal. Prior to Singh, Indian ghazal singers were considered relatively lesser authentic than their counterparts from Pakistan.

With a career spanning over five decades, his music became popular in mass media through films such as Prem Geet (1981), Arth and Saath Saath (1982), and TV serials Mirza Ghalib (1988) and Kahkashan (1991). His silky voice ruled during recent Bollywood flicks like Dushman, Sarfarosh, Tum Bin and Tarkeeb.

Life in Bombay was hard and Jagjit eked out a living doing small musical gatherings and house concerts. He sang at several film parties hoping to get a break in the movies.

Jagjit Singh broke this myth by coming up with songs such as ‘Kaagaz ki kashti’, ‘Chaak jigar ke’, ‘Kal chadhanvi ki raat thi’, and ‘Shaam se aankh me name si hai’. Jagjit Singh was first offered to sing in a Gujarati Film. ‘Dharati Na Chhoru’ produced by Mr. Suresh Amin,

He gained acclaim together with his wife, another renowned Indian Ghazal singer Chitra Singh, in the 1970s and 1980s, as the first ever successful duo act (husband-wife) in the history of recorded Indian music.

Jagjit Singh is the first Indian composer, and together with his wife Chitra Singh the first recording artist in the history of Indian music to use digital multi-track recording for their (India’s first digitally recorded) album, Beyond Time (1987). He is regarded as one of India’s most influential artistes.

He was awarded India’s third highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, in 2003.

He is the only composer and singer to have composed and recorded songs written by Prime Minister – Atal Behari Vajpayee, also a critically acclaimed poet – in two albums, Nayi Disha (1999) and Samvedna (2002).

On May 10, 2007, in a milestone joint session held in the historic Central Hall of India’s Parliament (Sansad Bhawan), Jagjit Singh rendered the last Moghul Emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar’s famous ghazal “Lagta nahin hai dil mera” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of India’s First War of Independence (1857).

Often called the ‘Ghazal King’ by his fans and peers, Jagjit was born on February 8, 1941 in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, to Amar Singh Dhiman, a government employee, and Bachan Kaur. He had four sisters and two brothers and was called Jeet by his family.

He was raised as a Sikh by religion. His birth name was Jagmohan but his Sikh father rechristened him as Jagjit following the advice of his guru.

It was his father, who first recognised his son’s talent. He sent young Jagjit to learn the nuances of music under a blind teacher, Pandit Chhaganlal Sharma. He later trained under Ustad Jamal Khan of Sainia gharana for six-years and gained knowledge in Khayal, Thumri and Dhrupad forms.

A few of his famous ghazals

There are many successful ghazals composed by Jagjit Singh. Some of them are listed below:-

• Yeh daulat bhi le lo, yeh shohrat bhi le lo
• Hoshwalo ko khabar
• Honthon se chhoo lo tum
• Bahut khoobsurat hai
• Kiska Chehera
• Kal chodvi ki raat thi
• Baat niklegi to
• Tera chehera hai aaeene jaisa
• Chitthi na koi sandesh
• Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho
• Koi fariyaad
• Kahin duur jab din
• Jhuki jhuki si nazar
• Tumko dekha to yeh khayal
• Jab saamne tum
• Tere aane ki jab khabar mehke
• Woh kaaghaz ki kashti
• Badi Najuk he ye manzil mohabbat ka safar he
• Der lagi aane mein tumko
• Patta-patta boota-boota haal hamaara jaane hai
• Tere baare mein jab socha nahin thaa
• Tere aane ki jab khabar mehke
• Tamanna fir machal jaaye agar tum milne aa jaao
• Ab main ration ki kataron mein nazar aata hoon
• Tujhse milne ki saza denge tere shehar ke log
• Din aa gaye shabaab ke aanchal sambhaaliye

Salman Khan with Sanjay Dutt who are the hosts of Bigg Boss 5

Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, who have been behind bars, shudder at even the possibility of participating in a show that would lock them up.

Many celebrities may have been keen to be part of a reality show hosted by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. But the star hosts themselves wouldn’t want to be locked in the house, no matter how much money is offered to them. Says Sanjay about staying in a place with 24/7 camera surveillance, “The contestants are getting paid. But even if any one pays me R 50-100 crore, I won’t be part of it. Aur main toh bina paise ke andar gaya tha (And I landed inside without any monetary transaction).”

In the same vein, Salman pointed out, “Hum dono toh aise hi andar gaye hain. So the question of us going in the house for any money doesn’t arise.”

Jokes apart
Even though the friendly hosts of the reality show are joking about getting inside a locked house, with cameras following you night and day, one can imagine their predicament. More so because both of them have spent considerable time behind bars — Sanjay for illegal possession of arms in connection with 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case and Salman for the black buck hunting case near Bhawad in Rajasthan in 1998.

“I pray to God that the case gets over soon and I am set free,” Dutt has been often heard saying Khan’s cases are also on in the courts of Rajasthan.

Source: http://www.in.com/news/entertainment/bigg-boss-hosts-salman-and-sanjay-are-claustrophobic-20776296-in-1.htmlBigg Boss hosts Salman and Sanjay are claustrophobic!

It’s almost a “Bachna ae haseeno” moment in the “Bigg Boss ” house this season. Thirteen beauties from different walks of life entered the fifth edition of the controversial reality show, with Bollywood villain Shakti Kapoor in tow on Sunday night. What will add “double dhamaal ” is hero Salman Khan and “khalnayak” Sanjay Dutt’s chemistry as the hosts.

The women contestants are an eclectic mix – controversial models, actresses, a wrestler, as well as a proud transgender.

The participants include – model Shraddha Sharma, who grabbed headlines for her relationship with former “Bigg Boss” contestant Raja Chaudhary; former Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai, who was banned in the country for wearing a bikini; Nihita Biswas, wife of “Bikini Killer” Charles Sobhraj and actress-singer Raageshwari, who has bounced back to arc lights after battling serious health problems.

Other contestants include actresses VJ Pooja Missra, Pooja Bedi, Juhi Parmar, model-actress and winner of Miss India International 2003 Shonali Nagrani, popular host Mandeep Bevli, and Rajasthani folk dancer Gulabo Sapera. Actress Mahek Chahal, who is said to be a close friend of Salman, has also joined the list.

If last year The Great Khali added muscle power to the show, this year, woman wrestler Sonika Kaliraman will be seen throwing her weight around. This is her second reality show after “Khatron Ke Khiladi”, and she is now six months pregnant.

Transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi is a highlight on the show. In the past seasons, cross dressers like Bobby Darling, designer Rohit Verma and Pakistani cross-designer Begum Nawazish Ali have made an appearance. But Tripathi, who is one of the country’s most visible LGBT community representative, hopes to make a difference in the mindsets of the general public about people of her kind.

The previous seasons saw a healthy balance between male and female participants. But this season, it’s different. There’s plenty of bird watching opportunity for the men, but for the female viewers, there’s no eyecandy.

The only male – Shakti Kapoor, is over 50. In 2005, he was stuck in controversy after a news channel aired tapes shot with hidden camera showing the actor seeking sexual favours from a journalist disguised as a Bollywood aspirant. The tapes also had Kapoor speaking about the casting couch in Bollywood and naming several big actresses, directors and producers.

It would be interesting to see if Shakti has some revelations to make on the show.

Isolated in one compact house situated in Karjat, with no connectivity and communication with the outside world, and under 24X7 surveillance, one expects to see a lot of friction and backbiting – which already began as soon as five lady contestants walked into the “Bigg Boss 5” house in the premiere episode.

Also with two star hosts – Salman and Sanjay, who are ready to give contestants a “double vaat”, the show will hopefully live up to its promise of being “bigger, bolder and louder”.
