After a bumper opening, Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name Is Khan is being cold-shouldered by the audience here. Cinema hall owners blame the “non-entertaining content” of the movie.
“There is a huge fall in My Name Is Khan ticket sales. While it was just 30 percent Wednesday, it is only 20 percent Thursday. The film is not being appreciated because of the content,” Amit Awasthi, manager (programming and operations) of Spice Cinemas, told IANS.
“The entertainment aspect in the movie is zero. Thought is has some emotions, there is nothing much to offer,” he added.
A source in PVR cinemas echoed the news.
“Our occupancy has fallen from around 90 percent to 50 percent Monday onwards because of the content of the movie. We are guessing it will stretch to one week more,” said the source.

Confirming the news says Gautam Mishra,IT executive at an MNC says “Search engine figures suggest that Salman is the most searched Indian male on the net and I guess that is a joint opinion of both the sexes”
Google statistics show that Salman Khan leads the pack followed by John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.

Mumbai: Notwithstanding with the poor reviews and negative comments, Salman Khan’s “Veer” is hitting high at the box offices in India and abroad. “Veer” tore into the critics like a gladiator and earned Rs 41 crore worldwide in the first week itself!
The weekend business of “Veer” stood at Rs 32 crore in India and rs 9 crore from the overseas market. This is the highest-ever earning for a Salman Khan movie during the first week in recent years.
“Veer” starred by Salman Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff and Zarine Khan, was released on January 22, 2010. It was released with 1,300 prints in India and 236 prints abroad. “Veer” did exceptionally well in Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat.
“Veer” is based on a plot from the nineteenth century. It is a saga of bravery, drama, action and emotion. Even though it got poor reviews from the critics and movie experts, it silenced everyone with the amazing response from the fans of Salman Khan and probably from the common viewers.
The distributor of “Veer”, Eros International confirmed that the movie is doing exceptionally well and marching ahead to earn more in the coming days. Well, it may not break the records set by Aamir Khan’s “3 Idiots”, but it will certainly delight Salman Khan, who was upset with the poor reviews of his much-awaited movie.
The trailer of Shahid Kapoor starrer Paathshaala will be unveiled with Salman Khan’s much-publicised patriotic period film Veer, which is releasing Friday.
Also starring Nana Patekar and Ayesha Takia, Paathshaala highlights the various issues faced by children in schools, said a press release. After 3 Idiots, Paathshaala could be an eye opener for educationists and parents.
Directed by Milind Ukey, Paathshaala also stars popular child artists Swini Khara and Avika Gor, apart from Ali Haji and Dwij Narendra Yadav.
The movie, scheduled for an April release, is being presented by Eros International, and produced by Shaira Khan of Paperdoll Entertainment. It has been penned by choreographer Ahmed Khan.
Seems after a considerable gap, the pending song for Emraan Hashmi starrer 24×7 Raftaar, will finally be shot. But it remains to be seen if the actor will feature in it. Reportedly, the producers, Percept Picture Company has roped in the three finalists of IPL Miss Bollywood 2009, while Hashmi was keener on doing it with a known actress.
According to a source associated with the movie, “Initially, the song was to be shot at Maldives and Emraan’s dates were booked. But it was shifted to Bangkok due to financial issues. Then there was a disagreement over the girl. Percept wanted to take some new girl to save costs, while Emraan felt a known face would get better mileage.”
