Tour operators in the northern province of Chiang Rai are upbeat and gearing up for the upcoming Thailand’s tourist peak season in the winter.

Restaurants, resorts and other tourist related business at Phu Chee Fah, one of scenic tourist attractions in the northernmost province, have begun to refurbish their places to welcome waves of tourists expected during the peak season that usually starts with the arrival of cold wind from up north.

Winter has just arrived, with the temperature dropping to 14-15 Celsius in early mornings. Accommodations have nearly been fully booked, especially for the year-end holidays, according to Banterng Kreauwong, president of Northern Community Tourism Club.

Phu Chee Fah is a hilly terrain famous for its chilly weather and the views of picturesque valley, with a sea of thick fog down below the hill.
