Notice regarding demonstrations in Bangkok

NOTICE

Pursuant to the Army’s take over of governance in Thailand with effect from 1630 hrs on 22nd May 2014, a nationwide curfew has been imposed from 10 p.m till 5 a.m. and the martial law announced on 20th May 2014 continues to be in position.

Public transport, including from/to airport, is likely to be affected from 2000 hrs onwards. It is therefore strongly advised that all Indian tourists and residents in Thailand take abundant precautions for their safety, including by avoiding movement during the prohibited period and to areas where demonstrations, political gatherings, marches, etc are likely to take place. They are further advised to regularly monitor the situation through the local media, hotels, tour operators, etc. Those who have flights at night are advised to reach the airport well before curfew time and/or ask their hotel to coordinate transport with the military.
