PM to hold talks with Indian counterpart while at ASEAN-India Summit

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha is today meeting with his Indian counterpart during his attendance at the ASEAN-India Summit.

The Prime Minister and his wife arrived at Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi last night and were welcomed by the country’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh in an official ceremony.

The PM is scheduled today to engage in multilateral talks with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi before attending a lunch at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the nation’s presidential palace.

Other highlights of his itinerary include participation in a retreat of ASEAN leaders to discuss the topic “maritime security cooperation” and a celebration of the release of commemorative stamps marking 25 years of ASEAN-India relations.

The summit’s plenary session is taking place this evening on the topic “shared values and goals of India and ASEAN”. That will be followed by a gala dinner hosted by the leader of the Indian nation.
