Public Relations Department Deputy Director-General Charoon Chaisorn presided over the opening ceremony for a media seminar on ASEAN Community Opportunities & Challenges. He said the media has to have correct information on the ASEAN community before it is formalized by the end of this year.
The seminar aims to make the media see varied opportunities and challenges following the ASEAN integration. That will benefit the ASEAN economy, transportation and innovation, according ASEAN Department Director-General Jakkrit Srivali, Institute of East Asian Studies Director Asst.Prof. Kiti Prasertsuk and Prajuab Supinee of the Department of International Trade.
Topics about Thai border provinces were also discussed by the provincial governor of Sra Kaeo and deputy provincial governors of Tak, Mukdaharn and Songkla.
The seminar was expected to pave better understanding by the press and public about three ASEAN pillars including Political-Security, Economic and Socio-Cultural Communities.
