Rehearsal for Rama Avatara Khon Performance held ahead of royal cremation

A rehearsal for the traditional Khon dance ‘Rama Avatara’ was held on Sunday to get the performers ready for the actual performance on October 26th when the royal cremation ceremony of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej takes place.

The details of the Rama Avatara Khon dance have been adjusted by the Fine Arts Department to suit the royal cremation ceremony.

The performance first made its debut at the opening ceremony of the National Theatre.

The performers said they were proud to be a part of the tribute show for the beloved late monarch.

Two more rehearsals will be held on October 23rd and 24th at Sanam Luang.

Meanwhile, the mural painting on the walls of the royal-merit making pavilion is 95% complete. The walls will be assembled and set up at the pavilion no later than September 13th, whereas the painters will complete the final touches by September 21st.
