Ubon Ratchathani attracts baby boomers in a new tourism campaign

Ubon Ratchathani province launched a tourism campaign yesterday aimed at attracting travelers to the province during the rainy season.

A press conference, which was held yesterday, was very lively as it was joined by Thailand’s renowned country singer and a national artist, Mrs. Banyen Rakkaen. The objective of the campaign is to encourage the baby boomer age group to visit the province, increasing their numbers from 8% last year to 12% of visitors this year during the monsoon season.

The campaign is targeting so-called baby boomers or people now aged between 51-69 years of age, due to their buying power and mobility. Ubon Ratchathani Governor Somsak Jangtrakun said they are very welcome to visit his province where they can see natural tourist sites, observe local traditions and enjoy north eastern food favorites

To promote tourism to the North East of the country, Air Asia Thailand is offering 25% off bookings for flights from Bangkok to north eastern provinces. Tickets can now be booked for flights scheduled between July 11th and September 30th. The offer ends on July 17th this year.
