The Royal Thai Police (RTP) has instructed officials to urgently look into the case of 2 impostors using stolen passports in Thailand to board the missing MH 370 Malaysia Airline, reaffirming that Thai authorities have added the stolen passports the Interpol’s database.
According to RTP spokesperson Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya Utayo, all related forces, including the Special Branch, Foreign Affairs Division, and Immigration Office, have joined hands looking into the case. An initial investigation revealed that the two passports were stolen in Thailand, from an Italian and an Austrian tourists during their visits to Phuket Island in 2012 and 2013.
Both cases had been added to the Interpol’s database, the spokesperson said, adding that authorities are currently working to verify the facts with the Interpol.
Thailand has already extended her hands to Malaysia in searching for the wreckage of the aircraft, adding the RTP will hold a meeting today at 3 PM to follow up on the progress of the case.
