TravPax launches academy for Asian agents

New events to highlight the benefits of going online

Travel technology company TravPax is launching a series of new educational sessions for travel agents in Southeast Asia, highlighting the benefits of going online.

The company, which offers a series of cloud-based travel solutions, including booking engines, reservation systems and e-commerce solutions, will host its inaugural TravPax Academy event in Singapore on 4 April 2014. And TravPax’s CEO, Laurent Maytal, told Travel Daily he expects a good attendance for the first educational session.

“We already have about 75 travel agents booked, not only from Singapore but also from Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia. These include some of the major travel agents, like Chan Brothers,” he said.

“The event will explain why agents need to go online, what the benefits are, how to switch from traditional trading to a successful online model, and what will happen to their business if they don’t go online.”

The TravPax Academy event will be available to both corporate and leisure agents, and will include speakers from such major online travel companies as GTA, Expedia, Hotelbeds, MakeMyTrip and Wotif.

Following the launch of the Singapore event, TravPax Academies will be rolled out across Asia, with the second event expected to take place in Hua Hin in July.
