Salman Khan, in his film, Wanted had said, “Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta.” But considering the recent reports, it won’t be wrong to say that our Sallu miyaan is not a man of his words. Wondering what are we talking about? Well, the story goes something like this…
So Salman‘s production house, Being Filmi Productions was going to present Nitin Kakkar’s project, Filmistaan, which has won praises and accolades galore at several film festivals. In fact, the film was also picked up by UTV and Shringar Films for distribution. Filmistaan was initially scheduled to release on March 21, but soon Dabangg Khan watched the film and expressed his interest in presenting it. Due to this development, its release date was postponed to May 23.
But what we have heard now is something else. If the recent reports are anything to go by then, the Jai Ho actor has taken a complete U-turn as his production house won’t be presenting the film, we hear. And there are 2 reasons behind this. “Given Salman’s commitments, he is currently busy shooting in Poland for the film, Kick. His involvement would mean postponing the film’s release yet again. Another reason is the fact that Salman had suggested some changes in the film’s marketing strategy in order to make it more commercially viable, but the makers didn’t agree to these. The difference of opinion also made Salman disassociate himself from the film,” a source was quoted by a tabloid.
Naturally, director of Filmistaan, Nitin Kakkar, is quite upset after this development. “I just got word that Salman Khan’s production house is no longer presenting my film. I have no clue why the deal didn’t work out; the film was supposed to release on March 21, but it was postponed to May 23, because Salman was in talks with UTV to present the film. Now the film is going to release on June 6,” Kakkar says.
Obviously, Salman’s support to Filmistaan would have added an impact to the business of the film. But then, it should be pointed out that some films like Kangana Ranaut’s Queen won zillions of hearts, without Sallu supporting it, hai na? And how can we forget the disastrous business by the recently released film, O Teri, which was produced by Mr Khan.
