The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will offer free Wi-Fi on the air-conditioned Euro II buses from 1 October 2014 onward. The free Internet is part of the BMTA’s project to improve public buses for better service.

Acting BMTA Director Naret Bunpiem said the authority was improving its bus service by using more than new 3,000 buses next year, adjusting routes and providing free Wi-Fi on 1,500 Euro II buses. However, it was still undecided which bus numbers would have free Wi-Fi, the acting director added.

The BMTA is also preparing to generate more income for the organization by leasing some of its bus garages in prime locations to the private sector for constructing shopping malls. The bus garages are located in Bang Khen, Min Buri, Suan Siam and Samae Dam. – See more at: http://thainews.prd.go.th/CenterWeb/NewsEN/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNECO5709040010008#sthash.TwRubFZx.dpuf
