The power of yoga to combat breast cancer will be demonstrated free to anyone suffering from the disease in a workshop at Thonglor’s Divine Yoga studio this coming Sunday.
Chaturvedi, who holds a master’s degree from India’s Bihar School of Yoga, said the practice can complement modern medicine. “Yoga can halt the side effects of chemotherapy and radiology. Yoga can enhance quality of life, reduce psychological stress. It can also prevent hair loss and cure insomnia and raft of problems, like itching of the skin and indigestion.
“In the workshop, the visitors will learn about disease prevention, diets that will be beneficial to them and many other nutritional tips. There will be a question and answer session, where all doubts will be cleared,” says Chaturvedi, who has done research on chronic diseases that can be cured with yoga. “We will show the participants how to manage their problems with different yoga practices.
“We invite hospitals, doctors, nurses and patients to come to our workshop and take the benefits of this health education.”
