A COVID-19 test center located at Dhupateme Royal Thai Air Force Sports Stadium in Pathum Thani, has extended its operations now until 30th July to cope with a massive turnout, now using antigen test kits for the initial screening to improve speed and increase capacity.
People today started to queue up at Dhupateme Royal Thai Air Force Sports Stadium in Pathum Thani, in the early morning before the first ticket for a free COVID-19 test is given out at 6 a.m.
With a high turnout, the center now mainly performs antigen tests that can provide results in 30 minutes, raising the daily test capacity from 1,000 to 1,200.
People getting a positive result from their antigen test will be tested again using the RT-PCR method for confirmation. They will be processed for treatment if both results come back positive.
Health and safety measures are being enforced at the venue to maintain orderliness, with staff available to provide assistance and guidance.
The test center at Dhupateme Royal Thai Air Force Sports Stadium has now extended its operations until 30th July, operating M-F, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tickets for the test slots are distributed on a first come first serve basis, from 6 a.m..
