The Indian Embassy hosted an Opening of a one-of-a-kind Art Exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Indo– Asean relations, an Exhibition featuring 20 art-works by Indian and Asean artists was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Exhibition is set to travel from Bangkok to Chiangmai. The art-works were the result of a dynamic Workshop, conducted with the Indo– Asean artists last October in the historic city of Udaipur.
Phattaraporn Leanpanit, an artist from Thailand, expressed pleasure in his stay at Udaipur and was especially intrigued by the similarities in the cultures of India and Thailand.
HE Mr Nagesh Singh, the new Indian Ambassador to Thailand, mentioned the political, cultural, and even emotional connection between India and the Asean nations in his Opening Speech.
The Ambassador, who was friendly and amicable, conversed energetically with every one of the visitors, comprising of representatives from MFA, PRD, scholars, Ambassadors (from Indonesia and Maldives), and students from Srinakkarin University, one of whom was chosen to attend an Indo– Asean Student Workshop in Hyderabad.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyable, with a Thai musician providing melodious sitar music, accompanied by delicious Indian delicacies.
There is much anticipation for the cultural events that the Indian Embassy has planned for the city this year, with Cinema included.
Visitors can view the Exhibition until the 5th of February, located on the L Floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
