The Ministry of Commerce is prepared to organize the Thailand’s Best Friends 2011 during 22-24 June with confidence the event will help accelerate Thai exports this year.
Director-General of the Department of Export Promotion (DEP) Nantawan Sakuntanak stated that the Thailand’s Best Friends was set to be held for the third time this year from 22 to 24 June. The main objective is to strengthen trade relations with prominent foreign partners, such as the US and Japan. Over 90 entrepreneurs have confirmed their participation while an increase by more than 1 billion USD is expected in the sales throughout the fair.
Ms Nantawan said the Thailand’s Best Friends would help push up the country’s total export value this year by 224.6 billion USD, expanding by 15 percent as targeted. During the first four months of this year, the Thai export has grown 27.4 percent with a value of 74.43 billion USD.
