Visitors can expect to be part of all kinds of activities and see a wide range of local products and traditional performances free of charge. Stalls will be set up along the promenade along Beach Road between the 7 and 10 of July with products on show from the four Eastern Seaboard provinces: Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat. The food part will include all kinds of seafood and other fresh produce; the Fun part is meant to encompass the cultural diversity of the four eastern seaboard provinces and various hotels and restaurants will be offering promotions over the four days. The real highlight will be a free concert every night for the duration of the festival by supposedly popular Thai bands.
Chonburi Deputy Governor Mr. Pongsak Preechawit has claimed the Food Fun Fest this year will generate revenue of over 100 million THB this year. The festival has been at the collaboration of Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces.
The event has also received support from the Department of Tourism and Sport in Chonburi. Each year the Eastern provinces had reaped in 93 million THB in the past. The festival will be held with the concept of “Colorful East”. It is aimed at boosting tourism in the East during low season, which is also in the rainy season.
Food Fun Fest will be held during 7-10 July 2011 on Liap Hat Rd., Pattaya city, Chonburi. However, the grand opening ceremony is expected to kick off on 8 July.
