The Prime Minister’s Office has announced that Thai Badminton star May Ratchanok Inthanon has received a royal decoration as an honor for her tireless effort to succeed.
The Royal Scribes and Royal Decorations, under the Secretariat of the Cabinet, Office of the Prime Minister, released a statement saying May Ratchanok received the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn ( ดิเรกคุณาภรณ์) Decoration.
In August this year, Ratchanok became the world badminton champion, making history as Thailand’s first ever player to win the world badminton championships. Nong May, then 18, was also the youngest badminton player who had ever won a world championship title.
The office said she was a great role model for Thai youths and amateur athletes, as she has a great commitment and will to succeed.
