DeeMoney wins the Most Promising New Fintech Start-up in International Finance Awards 2020

DeeMoney was named the ‘Most Promising New Fintech Start-up – Thailand 2019’ by the International Finance Awards. DeeMoney is one of the leading Thai FinTech companies to handle digital cross-border money transfers and is now internationally recognised for its specialisation amongst established names in the industry. “We are honoured to be recognised by International Finance Awards as the ‘Most Promising New FinTech Startup’ in an era where banking and FinTech converges. This achievement underlines our continued commitment towards building the best platform for businesses and individuals, defining the future of money transfers and currency exchange,” said Aswin Phlaphongphanich Director and Founder of DeeMoney.

Since it was founded in 2018, DeeMoney has rapidly expanded in terms of partnerships and its customer base. In its first year of establishing the firm, DeeMoney has achieved over 30,000 transactions of US$40 million in volume from almost 15,000 registered clients. The company continues to leverage their assets by developing strong relationships with 24 new partners across the globe, and improving its mobile application’s features to provide convenient, secure and safe transactions for customers. Aswin added: “At the core of our commitment to innovation is the belief that all benefits—whether in the form of greater savings, increased convenience or other advantages—must be passed on to our customers.”

DeeMoney is the first and only non-bank company that the Bank of Thailand (BOT) has been granted a license to obtain special international money transfer and money exchange licenses. DeeMoney’s customers consist of individuals who send and receive money regularly in Thailand. DeeMoney’s money transfer services also allow businesses of all sizes, including small medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-up owners to transact at lower costs and within a shorter time.

In 2018, DeeMoney was the first to go-to-market in Thailand with a mobile app for international money transfers. The company also introduced the industry’s first flat fee for seamless money transfers from Thailand. Then in January 2020, DeeMoney launched DeeNext, a next working day credit guarantee to 28 countries, including India.

Founders Aswin Phlaphongphanich and Rasmegh Srisethi continue to promote financial inclusion with the aim to improve lives in developing countries like Thailand. The company leverages on its strengths in digital technology to develop its own full stack platform in-house. DeeMoney continuously strives for improvement in its business capabilities to demonstrate positive possibilities that the innovative FinTech industry can bring to the world.
