Bollywood film “Krrish 3” has crossed the ₹200-crore mark at the worldwide box office in just one week of its release.
In India, the superhero flick raked in ₹166.52 crore and from overseas it minted ₹36 crore in its first week, taking the overall collections to ₹202.42 crore, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
At the domestic box office, the seventh-day earnings went down by 40 percent, compared to previous day and collected ₹13.44 crore.
The film opened to a good response on Friday and managed to rake in ₹25.50 crore. On Saturday and Sunday, the film maintained the pace collecting ₹23 crore and ₹24.3 crore, respectively.
But the film did exceptionally well on first weekday (Monday) by grossing ₹35.91 crore, which is the highest ever Monday collections recorded for any Hindi film. The film made ₹26.26 crore on Tuesday, ₹18.11 crore on Wednesday and ₹13.44 crore on Thursday.
After finishing its first week run, “Krrish 3” has set another milestone by breaking the record of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Chennai Express”. The science fiction film has the highest first week collections with ₹166.52 crore. The record was previously held by “Chennai Express,” which had minted ₹156.7 crore. The third spot went to Salman Khan’s “Ek Tha Tiger” with over ₹150 crore in first week earnings.
In the international market, the film had taken its first week total to ₹36 crore, but some screens are yet to report their figures.
Rescheduling the release from 3 November to 1 November proved beneficial for Rakesh Roshan’s venture. The film had a huge opening and also shattered many records at the domestic box office.
