Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is paying a visit to India during January 24-26 to assure investors that Thailand is back on its feet after the country was hit by the worst flood in 50 years.
According to Government Spokesperson Thitima Chaisaeng, Ms Yingluck is invited to join the Indian Independence Day celebration. The PM will use this opportunity to talk to business entrepreneurs to boost their confidence in Thailand, telling them about the plans for flood rehabilitation.
Ms Yingluck will join a bilateral talk with her Indian counterpart to stress the importance of the ASEAN Community establishment and talk about Thai-Indian free trade agreements.
Ms Thitima also announced that the Prime Minister will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland on January 27-28. This year’s theme will be the “Great Transformation: Shaping New Models,” focusing on the complicated and connected global crises.
She will take this opportunity to inform participants of the upcoming WEF on East Asia during May 30 – June 1 that Thailand will host.
