Bangkok: Saina Nehwal got a major boost ahead of London Olympics as the top-seeded Indian won the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold title after defeating local favourite second seed Ratchanok Inthanon of Thailand with a 19-21 21-15, 21-10 scoreline in Bangkok on Sunday.
Saina had a scratchy start as she lost the first game 19-21 as it was a closely-contested game but she bounced back and gave no chance whatsoever to her opponent and seal the title in her favour by winning the next two games.
Earlier on Saturday, top seed Saina Nehwal waltzed into the finals of the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold with a 24-22, 21-11 victory over Porntip Buranapraserstuk of Thailand.
