Associated Press (AP), which has been closely monitoring the political situation in Thailand, has repored that the Thai Premier could not order a crackdown on the protesters for fear of triggering a coup.
The New York-based multinational non-profit news agency Associated Press (AP) of late reported that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been monitoring the marching of the anti-government protesters, on a television in her temporary of office at the Ministry of Defense.
AP said Miss Yingluck could not order the police to disperse the protesters for fear of triggering a military coup.
The press agency further revealed that the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), who refused to negotiate with the government, has blocked off roads and set up perimeters with sandbags, while all demonstration sites have been guarded by supporters.
The Associated Press also said Miss Yingluck was facing a serious legal threat as the National Anti-Corruption Commission was probing into a case concerning her role in a controversial rice policy.
