Throngs of people are flocking to Bangkok’s China Town or “Yaowarat” street for the vegetarian festival.

Leng Noei Yi Temple(วัดเล่งเน่ยยี่) on Charoen Krung road has been attracting a large number of visitors coming to pay homage to the vegetarian god “Gew Ong Hook Jo” (กิ่วอ๊องฮุกโจ้ว), who according to folklore legends will travel to the human world to present humans with the 5 elements.

The Tien Fah Foundation is also a popular spot for those taking part in the festive vegetarian season to pay homage to Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Bangkok’s China town is at it’s busiest again this time each year with a large number of Thai-Chinese coming out to buy vegetarian meals and raw cooking ingredients.
