The Republic Day of India was celebrated on 26th January 2014 in Bangkok with enthusiasm and fervour. His Excellency Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who assumed the post of Ambassador of India to Thailand earlier this week, unfurled the national flag at the Embassy premises. The National Anthem and patriotic songs were sung. The Ambassador read out the President’s Address to the Nation. Various Indian associations collaborated to put up a sterling cultural performance on the occasion. Around 450 people, including members of the Indian community and friends of India among Thai nationals, celebrated the event.
