India’s flood relief assistance handed over to Thai Prime Minister

Nagma M. Mallick, Chargé d’ Affaires of India in Thailand, today handed over a cheque for over THB 6  million (USD 200,000) to H.E. Ms Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, as assistance by Government of India for flood relief at Flood Relief Operations Centre ( FROC), Don Mueang airport, Bangkok.

2. She conveyed the solidarity of the Government and people of India with the Government and people of Thailand at this difficult time. She also conveyed the readiness of Government of India to provide further assistance as required by the Thai side for flood relief.

3.At the same ceremony, some representatives of the Thai-Indian community in Thailand also handed over contributions for flood relief to H.E. the Prime Minister. Under the aegis of India-Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC), several Thai-Indian associations, including the Bengali Association, Namdhari Sangat, the Hindu Samaj, and the South Indian Association, collectively handed over assistance of THB One Million. This was in addition to the on-going flood assistance in cash and kind that the ITCC, its component companies, and other associations have been providing in flood-affected areas.  The India-Thai Diamond & Coloured-stone Association also contributed a sum of THB 500,000.
