Malaysian Government officials have concluded that the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was hijacked, saying that someone was able to switch off the plane’s communication devices and steer it off-course.

The claim comes after a week of unsuccessful searching for MH370, after the evaluation of evidence indicating that the plane changed course after it abruptly disappeared from civilian aviation radar.

The Malaysian officials told the media that currently there are neither culprits making demands nor a terrorist group claiming responsibility for the disappearance.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that piracy was no longer a theory but rather, as he summed up, “It is conclusive”.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to brief the media today.
