Though Aditya Chopra’s wifey managed to impress the critics, her film failed to rake in big moolah on day 1
Rani Mukerji’s much-awaited film Mardaani hit the theaters yesterday. While the talented actress garnered rave reviews for her gritty act, the film surprisingly didn’t get cash registers jingling. The official box office figures will be out soon but we hear director Pradeep Sarkar’s Mardaani managed to collect approximately Rs 3 crore on day 1.
According to Boxofficeindia, “Mardaani collected around 3 crore nett on day one as the cities were better in the evening than the morning which is expected. Still the fate of the film will depend on the all important Saturday and if it can show big growth then it could have a decent run.”
Well, let’s hope the collections go up over the weekend coz Rani has indeed given a great performance in Mardaani which is produced by her hubby Aditya Chopra and is touted as Yash Raj Films boldest film ever.
