Ministry of Transport has plans for Songkran Festival

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is carrying out plans to facilitate travel and safety during the Songkran Festival, especially ensuring adequate mass transportation.

Between 11-17 April, 11 million cars are expected to be on the highways, while thirty-two free trains are being put on the tracks to offer travelers 1.517 trips.

The Transport Co., Ltd. is also adding buses to provide 49,000 trips and shuttle buses are being provided by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA).

Furthermore, The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has announced that tolls on Burapha Withi Expressway are waived from midnight on the 10th April to midnight on the 16th April. The Department of Highways is also waiving tolls on Motorway No. 7 (Bangkok-Cholburi) and No. 9 (Bangpli-Bangpain) from 04.00 p.m. on 10 April, to midnight on 16th April.
